Fruit Protection

Fruit Fly Fruit Protection – RECOMMENDED BY HORTICULTURAL GURUS

FIRST STEP – After fruit tree has set the fruit and natural or hand ‘thinning out’ is complete (usually at size of hazelnut/cherry), hang out male fruit fly attractant, monitoring fruit fly presence and volume.

SECOND STEP – Start fruit fly (female) bait trap or spread female fruit fly bait on fruit tree foliage. Frequency of spreading female fruit fly bait depends on weather conditions. Windy, hot or rainy weather conditions require spreading female fruit fly bait as often as every 3-4 days. In normal weather conditions, recommendation is every 10 days.

Another method is using systemic chemical insecticide which also, to some degree, depends on weather conditions and is not recommended to be used in populated or urban backyard fruit fly control.

Fruit Protection with Exclusion bags

Another method of fruit protection recommended by abovementioned gurus are ‘exclusion bags’ which are placed over growing juvenile fruit. These may protect fruit from piercing sucking insect pests but do not prevent fruit from being damaged by foraging animals such as rats, possums and bats. Bird netting is also recommended however netting does not prevent foraging animals because they simply chew through once the fruit is emitting a ripening aroma.

In my more than 30 years of effort to protect my growing fruit, none of the abovementioned methods delivered results that would satisfy my objective in any way, and least of all cost effectiveness. Now there is a new method for fruit protection.

The FELBENKO METHOD of Fruit Protection,

Fruit protection

Note: This is a graphical representation of the fruit protection capsule, not actual product.

This is a food grade clear plastic growing fruit protection capsule which is effective against insect pests, birds and foraging animals. It does not require any bait spraying, bags or netting. Netting is counter productive in many ways because it provides protection for the damaging insect pests from their natural predators.

FELBENKO FRUIT PROTECTION CAPSULES are installed over juvenile fruit on the fruit tree until the fruit is ripe to be harvested. There are a number of other benefits of using FELBENKO GROWING FRUIT PROTECTION CAPSULES like no need for fungicides, particularly on peaches or carambolas (star fruit) which are prone to fungal diseases.

FELBENKO GROWING FRUIT PROTECTION CAPSULES are eco friendly because of their non-interference and non-pollutant nature.

All things being equal, the FELBENKO METHOD OF GROWING FRUIT PROTECTION is an above all superior product to any other method in current practice.
